Standardization. A body developing electrotechnical standards for the Single European Market / European Economic Area in order to reduce internal frontiers and trade barriers for electrotechnical products, systems and services. CENELEC's 19 member countries and 11 affiliate countries aim to adopt and implement the required standards, which are mostly identical to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards. Europ闂備焦鍞?de Normalisation]] (CEN) and [[Computer Dictionary/European Telecommunications Standards Institute|European Telecommunications Standards Institute]] (ETSI).
